Uncover The 14 Tips For A Flights

June 24, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Video · Comment

Traveling can be a stressful event and airplane travel is tops on the list of the stressors that we experience on what is supposed to be an exciting and fun event. A few simple steps can remove most of the stress of air travel.

Things to do before travel day:

1) Pack your bags. Make sure all your packing is done at least the night before and that you have all your bags in one central location for easy and complete loading into your car or taxi.

2) Have all your travel paperwork organized and in one central location for European bus tours.
3) Make a checklist of all the things you want to check to secure your home before you leave and walk through your home checking off each item. Do this at least an hour before you leave your house. Do this and you will never worry if you left your stove on or any of the other little nagging worries you might have while on your travel.

4) Be sure your pets are taken care of. Make any kennel reservations well in advance of your trip to be sure you have a reserved spot at a kennel you trust.

5) Call the AIRPORT and airline the day before to see how early the recommend you should arrive for a smooth, stress free check in. If they tell you to arrive three hours early and you arrive just 30 minutes early, you will probably feel great stresses about missing your flight. Also ask if there are any parking restrictions you should be aware of. Ever since 9/11, when we have a heightened threat level there may be car searches before you can park.

6) If you are just taking carry on luggage, many airlines let you pre check in right on the internet 24 hours before your flight. That means that you can get and print out boarding passes right for European travel tours from your home. And when you get to the airport, you can go right to the gate and your boarding area without getting into the long check in line. If you have to check baggage, you will not have this option available to you. But if not, it is a great time and stress saver.

Travel day:

7) Leave home in plenty of time to anticipate busy traffic or unexpected condition . If it is an hour trip to get to the airport, you may want to leave an extra half hour early just in case there are road problems.

8) If you are checking in bags, be prepared to wait in line. If it is a busy time of day at the airport and you are traveling with a popular airline, there could be a significant line. Don’t worry about how long the line is. As long as you arrive when the airport recommended, you will have plenty of time to make it to the front of the line and get checked in. It may look impossible but it will happen so just relax and be patient.

9) Make sure that any “carry on” baggage really is carry on. Otherwise you may get stopped at the gate and have your bag taken away to be stowed with the regular luggage. It will delay and stress you. And it will delay everyone else.

10) When boarding the plane for traveling tours, get your seat and stow your carry on baggage quickly. And then sit down and stay out of the way. There are lots of people trying to do the same thing and we’ve all encountered the folks who block the aisle for a long time fussing about something or other while a harried line of boarders is forced to wait. You don’t want to be one of those people. So just get your business done quickly and efficiently and sit down. You’ll have plenty of time to get up once the plane is in the air.

11) If you have to change planes, it can be a real challenge, especially in the larger airports. If you aware the gate you will have to go to, ask the flight attendant for advice to reach that gate quickly. In some airports – like Atlanta – a Delta connection can be a huge adventure taking 30 minutes to get from one gate to another. If you understand in advance how you have to get to your next airplane, it will be much less chaotic when you get off the first plane. And a much more relaxing walk (or run) to your next gate.

12) When the plane lands, patiently wait your turn. Whether you push or just wait, you usually won’t get off the plane any quicker. People tend to let the folks in the rows before them get up and go in a pretty orderly fashion. Trying to rush it will only get your blood pressure up and will not be looked upon favorably by your fellow travelers.

13) If you just have carry on baggage, you have successfully completed a pretty stress free flight.

14) But if you have carry on luggage, there is one more step – waiting for the luggage. Just pick a place around the conveyor belt and wait. Expect your bag to be the very last one to come out and be pleasantly surprised when it comes out early.

By following these simple steps, you will realize that your stress levels from your air travels will be much less. A well planned trip agenda ensures that those little stress points stay little stress points and don’t balloon into a full blown crisis. Try it any you will be amazed how just a small amount of up front planning dramatically improves the enjoyment of your travel.

Walking Around London Looking At Places Associated With Beatles

April 22, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Video · Comment

We used the Magical Mystery Tour when we were in London. We watched a brochure advertising a walk that shows visitors a lot of places importance for a career of the Beatles.

At ten o’clock in the morning, we met our guide, Richard, and about two dozen other Beatles fans far from the studio where the first film “The Beatles” Yellow Submarine was made. Richard has written a book about the Beatles and was the connecting photo he took of the famous quartet. He was a walking encyclopedia of trivia Beatles. He told us, Yellow Submarine is one of the favorite films of Queen Elizabeth.

The second stop on our tour was MPL publishing company, which belongs to Paul McCartney. M stands for his name and P and L for his first name and on behalf of his late wife Linda. Music company is wildly successful. She owns the rights to hundreds of popular songs, as well as evaluation to musicals like Annie and fats.

Next, Richard led us to a sign marking the spot Bath Gentleman’s public toilets. Obviously, in 1966, John Lennon made a guest appearance on British television program. In one scene starred John going in particular, that bathroom. It was on this television show, John wore glasses signature grandmother for the first time. These glasses have started fashion passion, which lasted for years. Richard also told us, some enterprising person had a toilet paper roll, John Lennon used in the bathroom gentleman that day. He went on sale on E-Bay thousand pounds sterling.

Our tour continued with stops production of Apple Studios, where the band gave their last concert on the roof in 1969. We saw the London Library. Here original assessment of many of the songs of the Beatles on the display. We stopped at the Palladium Theater, where the Beatles debuted on the stage and Trident Studios, where Lucy in the sky with diamonds was removed. Our guide, Richard dismisses rumors that the song title in favor of drug LSD. Apparently, the real story is that the son of John Lennon, Julian came home from kindergarten one day and showed his father a creative graphic design, he created and colored. When his father asked him what he called his painting, which he said: “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”, as John wrote a song about it.

The culmination of the tour of our visit to the studio Abbey Road, where, perhaps, the most famous Beatles Abbey Road album was recorded. Cover of the album presents four singers walked down the street at the pedestrian crossing. The intersections are actually very busy with traffic, but I waited patiently for the camera to get a photograph of my husband passed out on the very spot where the Beatles were photographed at Abbey Road album cover.

Bond Street Tube Station The Most Central Street In London

April 22, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Video · Comment

Bond Street station is actually located in the heart of central London: you just can not get more central.

It is often said that this place was not a wink for the past 300 years, central London was busy watching England will rise from the island of return of the European powers in the modern world for several centuries.

Most of the best products in the world passes through one of central London stores (in fact, the UK, often referred to as the “nation of shopkeepers”), and the large number of them seem to only a few minutes walk from Bond Street.

Bond Street in Mayfair area: very busy, constantly pulsing sea of people and economic activity. Bond Street underground station is right in the midst of all this.

Station is located on the aptly named Central Line, close to Oxford Street, and between Oxford Circus and Marble Arch.

In addition, the Jubilee Line, between Baker Street (the famous Sherlock Holmes) to the north and Green Park to the south.

Being one of the trendier and livelier parts of London, but also has many shops and pubs, including the legendary Selfridges with the right hand corner.

You will also find close Siro in on – jewelry store, where Bertram Wooster that indefatigable visionary in the early 20 th century, reportedly bought a wedding ring for tens (unfortunately fictional!) Of British and American beauties, from barmaids to the heiress!

Bond Street underground station itself has a rich history and participation. It was built in 1900, when Sherlock Holmes still roamed the streets of London rain and the horse on the initiative of a taxi driver can ferry him to 221B Baker Street in West Kensington, about an hour.

The station has several reconstructions have seen over the past eleven years. Old World lifts have long gone, replaced by gleaming modern escalators. Even the entrance to the station was so extensively redesigned that little remained of the original 1900 structure.

Local attractions within walking distance

There are many attractions in the metro station, Bond Street. On a clear sunny morning is a joy to walk through the cobbled streets and sit down, etc.-style murals on some food joint. You can find the modern European, Turkish, Italian, French, and any number of restaurants in the area, whether it be fantasy a quick snack or the more leisurely stay.

There are, of course, many other things here, besides a fine and tasty cuisine.

Oxford Street could be the busiest retail street in the world is its charming Christmas Lights are switched on a few weeks before Christmas (although it seems to get earlier every year!)

An incredible amount of people from all over the world come here to see the inclusion of the ceremony – usually takes some celebrity – which officially heralds the arrival of Christmas.

Thousands and thousands of gift buyers exploration of the crowd at the boutiques on Bond Street and Oxford Street all year, not only for Christmas and cut-price sales in January.

I am very happy just to walk on the pedestrian street, under a canopy always unpredictable shades of the sky London (based as it is, from the vagaries of known weather changes in the UK).

Bond Street hotels

Do you fancy having all of the above amenities right on the threshold? There are some amazing hotels near pre-selected for you (because of their high rating on X) on the blog London Hotels Insight. In fact, the world famous Dorchester Hotel and Claridge’s are both just a short walk from Bond Street.

London vacation package – the information you need before traveling

1. London seething metropolis

London is a huge city, the largest in Europe with a population of over seven million. This is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic city, and this is reflected in the fact that more than three hundred different languages are spoken in the city. Thus, you do not have to expect that all you meet to talk in English.

2. Divided by common language

Was it Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw, who said America and Britain are two countries divided by a common language?

Whoever it was, here are some illustrations of what he had in mind – these are two particularly noteworthy:

An Englishman might say, for example: “I could kill a fag right now!
American would be horrified to hear such things, of course. But the fact that an Englishman, actually means is “I would really like to be able to smoke a cigarette right now!
Fag, in English, means a cigarette.

American would say someone ‘Park your ass out there. ”
Englishwoman heard it, it would be mortally offended. “American” means “why are you sitting down” as they are funny = ass.

In England, however, Fanny different and generally more intimate sense!

There are endless examples of such confusion, which may be due to our common language, but the above can cause the most raised eyebrows.

3. Spelling

Sometimes the Brits spell things in such a way that is difficult to match with the way the word is pronounced. Leicester Square, for example, looks like it should be pronounced LY-Sisters area. English pronunciation LESTER area.

So do not be confused when you see the direction of Leicester Square.

4. Driving

In England, cars drive on the left side of the road. If you are renting a car in London to try to make sure to spend some time getting used to driving on the “wrong” side of the road before venturing further. London is very lively town, and you may make your life in your hands, if not acquainted with the local driving conditions in the first place.

Commercial real estate market is directly related to the behavior of the banking system, with banks like HBOS and Royal Bank of Scotland is now under government control, the likelihood that more unused space will be on the market as the Treasury is implementing its plans to streamline these major financial institutions.

Both banks seem to be setting a template for other companies in the near future, the office market in London with the landlord’s point of view still looks bleak: Many corporations are doing layoffs and either reduce the size of their enterprises, moving from the capital, and in some of the most extreme cases, declaring himself bankrupt and closed shop completely. For owners of office space in London, spells further bad news, but also for tenants looking for space this is fantastic news. More and more office space in London, coming to the market and less time taken, empty and unused space will just cost money the landlord that the current financial climate, they can not afford to lose. Selling their properties is unlikely option, and when they do it, it will probably be a great loss.

For tenants seeking to rent office space in London, the news is much better. What was once the market is firmly controlled by the landowners, is currently the market tenant, with fantastic possibilities in all directions. In an attempt to court tenants, landlords seek to ensure that their premises remain unused in the shortest possible time. This means that there has been a sharp drop in rents. According to Commercial Property News, London rents have already taken to reduce about 23%, and the figure seems to grow in the recession bites hard in the banking system and beyond. In combination with low rents, the owners also offer substantial free periods. In the West End alone, incentives three times as long for the past 12 months.

This is the current economic situation offers tenants the opportunity to relocate to more hospitable space London share of the costs that they face the 6-12 months ago. With the downsizing of the British pound, London is becoming increasingly popular among international companies, since it does not retain the title of most expensive capitals of the world, but still offers some of the best business contacts and services worldwide. While these corporations seek to take advantage of the decline and go to the top End office space for reduced rates, but also leaves the door open for smaller, homegrown businesses take advantage of the inertia of small and medium-sized markets. While the credit crunch spells disaster for many agencies, prospective tenants see a landscape of financial opportunity.

Complaint Book Hotels In London

April 9, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Video · Comment

Even in the best hotels sometimes spoil!
The thing that determines the best hotels apart so they “recover” when things go wrong.

Since there are so many factors that play into a hotel, it is very possible that you may have less than perfect stayed. So it is better to choose a hotel that will “do the right thing” when things go wrong? I spent a few in-depth studies of London hotels and hotel brands to see which best process for handling complaints. In most cases, I personally met with the hotel management to discuss this topic.

My findings will hopefully help you choose the perfect hotel in London.

The best hotels, like The Lanesborough, Claridge’s, The Grove, One Aldwych, and Brown, of course, will do their utmost to resolve any complaints. The price they charge, they should! The basic principle of these luxury hotels is complying with this “decision in favor of the guests.” Often the management of personal contacts with the guest and try to convince them to give the hotel another chance.

If you are staying in one of the best hotels you should let them know of any problems during your stay. They usually do their best to fix it while you are still there. If you are going to notch the bottom and look at the stars 4 brands like Malmaison, Myhotels or Hilton, you will find them equally attentive. Typically, the responsibility of the individual hotel manager for a complaint, but in some cases, you can also go to the head office for a response.

In many cases, complaints are used to improve the hotel and ensure that issues do not recur.

Sometimes even the director general of the hotel company personally involved. For example, Sir Rocco Forte (Rocco Forte collection) and the leaders Myhotels, Millennium and Copthorne Malmaison, and all told me stories again, that they take responsibility to resolve the problem. Director-General of the other hotel group – Red Carnation Hotel Collection – told me that they saw a rare complaint as an opportunity to further enhance the service.

He even offers to customers who had problems (though small) to dine with him, so that companies can learn and further optimize its proposal. Not surprisingly, the Red Carnation currently has an amazing 5 hotels in the top 10 for London!

Note that the above description is an “elite” and the most expensive London hotels. There necessarily are more than a few horror stories in cheap hotels. But I still hope that this shows the commitment of the most advanced London owners need to consider your complaint.

In most cases, they genuinely want to correct the situation. You can argue that the hotel market as a competitive and expensive as London, they simply have no choice. So if you have a genuine complaint about staying in a London hotel, please always come forward and inform the hotel!

Most people are familiar with “Chocolate Box” image of London: Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, and London Eye. While all of these places really should be included on your “to see” list, you will not miss out on the heart and soul of the greatest city on earth, if you just stick to having your picture taken in front of “tourist icons. You can not say “Rotherhithe” without mentioning the words “the Thames in the next breath”. In this part of London is always determined by its proximity to the river. Indeed, the name of Rotherhithe probably originates from the ancient Norse term ‘shelter sailor. Until now, it is one of the best places to monitor the river in its many moods. So if you want to try something from the old maritime London, away from the teeming masses of tourists: Get off the tube Bermondsey and Rotherhithe station, and walk beside the river. Some of the things that you should beware of are:

Echoes are one of the most famous ports in the world. Rotherhithe earlier in the heart of Surrey Commercial Docks, and therefore an integral part of the Port of London. Most of the cargo, destined for London, now discharged many kilometers downstream of Tilbury. However, abundant traces the history of this part of the Thames can still be found everywhere, if you want to watch. Machines for removing locks, mooring place of the old warehouses converted into apartments cranes everywhere. The names of the remote areas are also reflected in the names of streets and in the few remaining docks. Look for Canada Water, Russia and Greenland Dock. After a while, you can almost rigged tall ship to provide transition in the field of view.
Mayflower Pub. Perhaps the most famous ship to sail ever been Rotherhithe the Mayflower: a ship that took the Pilgrim Fathers to the New World in 1620. Pub (called “The Mayflower”, of course!) Currently stands near the spot where he had gone. Drink it and toast the courage of those pioneers who risked all to go and make a new start. Be sure to catch the excellent statue celebrating the heritage Pilgrim father is not around the corner from the pub.
St. Mary’s Church. Against ‘The Mayflower “You will see the church of St. Mary. There was a place of Christian worship on this site, more than a millennium, and the Blessed Virgin Mary is still an active church functioning. See the grave of Captain Mayflower, Christopher James, in the cemetery.
Brunel Museum. One of the biggest engineering families (Marc Brunel and his son Isambard Brunel UK) have left their mark in the construction of Rotherhithe Tunnel Thames. The tunnel was an engineering marvel of its time and its construction and pioneering work of Brunel is famous in this fascinating little museum.

The Tower In London – The Most Popular Place For Tourists

April 6, 2010 · Filed Under Travel Video · Comment

Construction was started in the Tower of London almost a thousand years ago, and work continues today.

Subsequent kings and queens have expanded the original structure which was launched in 1078.

Tower of London has always been a royal castle-fortress, constantly changed and now is now very old castle and the Royal Palace in prison throughout Europe.

Treason is still present capital offense in the UK and is now legally punishable by death (at the base of the tower without a doubt).

Norman King William the Conqueror invaded England (1066 BC) and defeated the ruling Anglo Saxon King Harold at the Battle of Hastings and then on Christmas Day in 1066, he was later crowned King of England.

Select Bank of the Thames in the framework of its royal residence, mostly up to this point is the absolute farthest river of the Thames, that the medieval stone bridge can actually be built across the river and did not fall during the flood season.

King William needed an impregnable fortress at the base of his army, in order to preserve the remaining Medieval English lords under their control and to prevent their rebellion against him and snatched back the throne of the English language.

Londoners do not like the invasion of King William was unable to command loyalty easily, because it is considered a foreigner, comes from Normandy in France.

It requires a strong army to keep the throne as the meeting and all the kings in those days.

You can say that nothing has changed in the last thousand years, Vis-à-Vis recent conflicts around the world is going on!

Interestingly, the place William has chosen for his army was exactly the same place as the Roman emperor Claudius chose as his English base for centuries before, and even today you can see beautiful signs of Roman engineering skills visible there and in the rest of England (City of Bath in particular).

After it’s thousands of year’s bespeckled history, the Tower of London is currently in London Museum!

From the outset, Tower was a simple stone and wood, building ditches and palisades outside.

The basic structure later became a large stone tower, which was called the “Great Tower, now called the White Tower.

Around 1240 the then King Henry III moved to the Tower to live in his Royal Palace.

So he did it beautifully and wrote in big white tower, as well as to expand their new home, so that he could build a temple to pray in.

After all, we must not forget that all the medieval kings claimed that they ruled the divine right – and what do you say to that?

In a large hall and further buildings were constructed and Norman kings, the direct descendants of William, who is still ruling England in the 13th century (and still speaking in French, of course!) Referred to in the Tower of London as’ La Tour Blanche ‘which in English means White Tower.

Grand / White / Blanche Tower, or Tower of London, if you wish, fulfilled many functions throughout the centuries.

The royal residence, palace, fortress, prison, all-in-one military-industrial complex, the Royal Mint, the Treasury and now he lives in London and the Museum of London’s number one tourist attraction.
